On 6 October 2024, SUNDAZE marked ten years at Taş Mektep on Büyükada. Circular making, public conversation, sound and shared presence came together in one programme.
The original registrations are closed. This record keeps the programme, collaborators and questions visible as part of the Living Archive — not as a reopened event page.
Developed with IED — Istituto Europeo di Design and guided by Frances Venneri, the workshop invited Istanbul’s creative community to approach circularity not only as a subject, but as a material practice.
Used garments and textile remnants became the working material. Participants explored current circular textile practices and upcycling, then developed a shared design output: flags carrying five SUNDAZE values — Community, Sustainability, Innovation, Well-being and Creativity.
Four practices, four points of view.
The original programme brought the people behind each conversation into view. Their portraits and names remain part of the record.

On 1 October 2024, IED formally announced its partnership with SUNDAZE through its international news archive — an independent institutional record of the workshop, talk and shared attention to sustainable practice across the creative industries.
IED described the workshop as an exploration of eco-conscious design and sustainable production. Frances Venneri’s talk extended that practice into a harder question: how can large and small brands distinguish authentic industry change from greenwashing?
At 19:00, the programme moved from conversation into a shared celebration meditation shaped around well-being, mindfulness and sound healing.
The closing was less a retrospective than a threshold: a way to hold what the first ten years had made possible before looking toward what could follow.
Taş Mektep, held as more than an address.
The restored masonry rooms and open Büyükada courtyard gave the workshop, talks and closing ritual a common ground.

The day looked back at ten years of SUNDAZE while opening questions about circularity, community building and what another decade might hold.
